It was a good Monday for Ryan Ritter. Kentucky’s junior shortstop, who won the Gold Glove award last month, was selected in the fourth round of the MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies. He came off the board with the No. 116 pick.
In his second year at Kentucky after transferring from John A. Logan College, Ritter finished the season batting .283 with 24 extra-base hits, 36 RBI, and a .416 on-base percentage. His biggest impact was on defense, where he recorded a .973 fielding percentage with 137 assists and 83 putouts with just six errors on the year.
