Former Kentucky defensive lineman Ricky Lumpkin is back in the Bluegrass. In his first job after football, Lumpkin announced on Twitter he will be an academic counselor for the Kentucky football team.
Lumpkin said he’s “excited to do what I love post football at my Alma Mater.”
The Clarksville, Tennessee native made an impact as a redshirt freshman for Kentucky in 2007. In four years he had 84 tackles, 13.5 for loss and 3 sacks. His best statistical season was in 2009, but he was arguably at his best in the final game of his sophomore season when the Kentucky defensive line dominated East Carolina en route to a Liberty Bowl victory.
