Rhyne Howard is Kentucky women's basketball's first ever AP first-team All-American

LEXINGTON - Kentucky women's basketball star Rhyne Howard's historic 2019-20 season has been capped with another program first.

On Thursday, the sophomore guard was named one was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press, becoming the first player in program history to earn AP first-team All-American honors. The Associated Press began naming women's All-Americans in 1995.

"Rhyne is the definition of an All-American and one of those rare players that impacts the game in absolutely every statistical category," UK head coach Matthew Mitchell said in a news release.
