Mark Stoops may have found Kentucky’s tenth assistant football coach.
Football Scoop reports that Stoops is planning to hire Oregon receivers coach Jovon Bouknight. Two hours prior to filing the report on Football Scoop, The Oregonian reported that Bouknight was leaving Mario Cristobal’s staff at Oregon.
If hired at Kentucky, Bouknight’s role remains unclear. Kentucky’s current wide receivers coach, Michael Smith, is under contract for one more season.
Bouknight was one of the best wide receivers in college football as a senior in 2005. One of the best pass-catchers in Wyoming history, he still holds the school record for all-purpose yards and was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award in his final season, given each year to the nation’s top receiver.
