LEXINGTON - John Calipari is reportedly turning to a familiar face to shakeup his Kentucky basketball coaching staff after an embarrassing 9-16 season.
Former UK assistant coach Orlando Antigua, who has served as an assistant coach at Illinois since 2017, is likely to return to Calipari's staff, according to a report from Stadium.com reporter Jeff Goodman.
How exactly Calipari plans to fit Antigua on his staff remains in flux, but Goodman also reported Kentucky staffer Tony Barbee is the favorite for the head coaching job at Central Michigan. Barbee was moved to an administrative role at UK last season, so additional changes would need to be made for Antigua to join the three-man on-court staff.
