LEXINGTON - Mark Stoops is reportedly keeping his next Kentucky football coaching hire in the family.
Stoops is set to hire his older brother Mike Stoops as the Wildcats' new linebackers coach, according to a report from coaching industry website FootballScoop.com. Mike Stoops previously served as Arizona's head coach from 2004 to 2011, employing Mark as his defensive coordinator there.
After being fired by Arizona, Mike worked for brother Bob Stoops as Oklahoma's defensive coordinator from 2012 to 2018. He then spent two years as an analyst for Nick Saban at Alabama before returning to a full-time coaching role as defensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic last season.
