Every off-season, there are rumors and speculation that John Calipari may leave Kentucky for the NBA, but if anything, his roots in Lexington are growing deeper. According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, Calipari is close to signing a one year, $8 million extension that will keep him in Lexington through 2022.
Sources tell KSR, UK and Calipari close to extending his contract 1 year at $8M through 2022. He will earn a $1.6M longevity bonus on July 1
