Reid Travis: Ashton Hagans’ defense is “game-changing”

Kentucky looked better than it has all season in the second half vs. UNC Greensboro thanks in large part to Ashton Hagans. The freshman guard thrived in his role as defensive stopper, holding the Spartans’ hot-handed Francis Alonso to only three points in the second half after he scored 19 in the first.

“It was game-changing,” Reid Travis said of Hagans’ defense yesterday. “When he can disrupt the other team’s point guard like that, make them go into different sets and disrupt like that, it’s going to be big for us because it brings energy to everybody.
