UK assistant Joel Justus will not be the next head coach at Radford.
After being rumored as a potential candidate for the job opening in recent days, Radford has instead hired Florida assistant Darris Nichols to take over as the program’s next head coach.
Nichols, a former student-athlete at Radford High School, spent six seasons at Florida before taking his first head coaching job.
“Darris Nichols is a star,” Director of Athletics Robert Lineburg said. “He was an outstanding student-athlete at Radford High School and at West Virginia University. He has climbed the ranks as an assistant coach all the way to the University of Florida in the SEC.
