One of Racing Louisville FC’s brightest stars is responsible for the first hat trick of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Ary Borges, a midfielder for Racing Louisville, scored three goals for Brazil in her World Cup debut, leading her home country to a 4-0 win over Panama.
Borges’ first goal came in the 19th minute, a header off a cross. Twenty minutes later, she had a chance for her second score. Her header was saved but she converted the rebound to put Brazil up 2-0. Just after the second half began, Borges set up her teammate Bia Zaneratto with a sick back heel flick for Brazil’s third score.
