Last week, John Calipari announced that each eligible player on his team was declaring for the 2016 NBA Draft, and while that news shocked many in the college basketball world, it was just the latest example of Calipari being Calipari to those who know him best (us). The new draft declaration guidelines allow players to enter the draft multiple years without jeopardizing their eligibility and also allow them to return to school as late as May 25, ten days after the NBA Draft Combine.
This is great news for the players, who will be able to make a more informed decision about their futures, but since Calipari had a little fun with the new rules, I’m going to have fun with his announcement.
