PJ Washington wins national player of the week award

After picking up SEC Player of the Week, PJ Washington picked up another recognition and was named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

Washington led the Kentucky Wildcats to a 17-point win over the #1 ranked Tennessee Volunteers this past weekend. Washington finished with a game-high 23 points and shot 9-12 from the field, and is currently averaging 14.8 points and 8.0 rebounds in 28.3 minutes averaged on the court. What those numbers don’t show is the leadership and determination Washington has emerged with over the past few weeks.
