LEXINGTON - Kentucky football's quarterback competition has a new contender.
Former Penn State quarterback Will Levis announced Friday he is transferring to UK. Levis will compete with returning quarterbacks Beau Allen, Joey Gatewood, Nik Scalzo and 2021 signee Kaiya Sheron for the starting job. Former starter Terry Wilson is transferring from UK.
Levis appeared in six games with one start for Penn State last season, completing 33 of 55 passes for 421 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 260 yards and three touchdowns on 82 carries. As a graduate transfer, he is eligible to play for Kentucky next season regardless of whether the NCAA approves the one-time free transfer rule for all players.
