Georgios Papagiannis flirted with the idea of playing college basketball next season and Kentucky was in his final list of schools. However, the seven-footer from Greece has decided to play professional ball instead, according to Evan Daniels.
We learned last week that Papagiannis wasn’t a legitimate option for the Cats, though UK was one of the four schools he reportedly considered. He also had interest in St. John’s, NC State and Oregon.
The news of Papagiannis — or “George Papa,” as we called him — going back overseas will certainly make John Short happy. Johnny wanted nothing to do with having to pronounce that name.
