Outside the Lines needs to watch itself with the Kentucky/Drake talk

The “Drake curse” is a popular topic today following the rapper’s bandwagon support of Alabama and the Crimson Tide’s subsequent face plant in the national championship game, but ESPN’s Ryan Smith needs to be a little more careful when discussing the history between Drake and the college team he supports the most, Kentucky.

On today’s Outside the Lines, Smith said that after Drake started wearing Kentucky blue in 2009, the program went on to win a title but was also found guilty of NCAA violations; what he failed to mention was that both infractions were minor and self-reported by the school, with Kentucky going as far to send Drake a cease-and-desist letter to avoid problems with the NCAA.
