Outback Bowl trending for Kentucky in latest college football bowl projections

LEXINGTON - With just two games left in the regular season, Kentucky football's bowl outlook is growing clearer.

The Wildcats have been knocked out of contention for a New Year's Six bowl game. The SEC's spot in the Citrus Bowl also looks out of reach unless the College Football Playoff committee surprises by ranking four SEC teams high enough to play in the New Year's Six games.

That leaves the Outback Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 1 in Tampa, Florida, as the top realistic target for Kentucky.

To play in the Outback Bowl, Kentucky needs to beat New Mexico State and Louisville in its final two regular season games, but the Wildcats will likely need help from others too.
