The final result surely wasn’t what he wanted, but Oscar Tshiebwe still managed to make history.
During Kentucky’s 69-62 loss to Tennessee in the semifinals of the 2022 SEC Tournament, Tshiebwe recorded his 27th double-double of the year, which moves him past former Wildcat great Dan Issel (1969-70) for the most in program history across a single season. The Kentucky big man finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out with under four minutes left in regulation.
Tshiebwe tied Issel’s record during Friday’s quarterfinal win over Vanderbilt.
Another double-double puts Tshiebwe at 15 in a row and continues his streak of not getting outrebounded by any of his opposing matchups in any game this season.
