There’s a lot of treats to experience at Kentucky football practices, but none better than watching Coach Stoops instruct the DBs. It’s firm, but not too intense. He throws a lot at his players (including som jargon that I don’t even understand), but doesn’t hesitate to slow things down and instruct one-on-one (like he did often with Chris Westry).
One drill began a little sluggishly, not living up to Stoops’ standards. He raised his voice, “You’re not gonna hold the receivers in this league. You’re going to beat them with technique.” Needless to say, when you walk away, you know that man knows what he’s talking about.
