LEXINGTON, Ky. — NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently said he is open to exploring a change to the NBA’s “one-and-done” draft eligibility rule.
No college coach has capitalized on that rule more than Kentucky’s John Calipari, but he says he is not concerned about the way a rule change would affect his program.
“Whatever happens in this as we go forward, Kentucky eats first. I’m not saying that to be arrogant,” Calipari said. “You know it. So however they play this, it isn’t me talking about well this is what would be best for Kentucky, for my program, or let these kids get out of here so I don’t have to coach against them.
