One of the Big Blue Wall’s most experienced players has been absent from spring practice. Mark Stoops shared Saturday afternoon that Naasir Watkins has been unavailable so far. Kentucky’s head coach did not specify how long Watkins will be out, but it’s safe to assume he will not be in action until fall camp begins.
Watkins’ 2020 season ended early, appearing in only one game after he suffered a knee injury that required surgical repair. He might be the most experienced player on the roster that has not consistently started. After Landon Young suffered a season-ending injury in the summer of 2018, Watkins started the opener at left tackle.
