North Hardin Running Back La’Vell Wright Commits to Kentucky

The top-ranked running back in the state of Kentucky will be a Wildcat. Wednesday morning La’Vell Wright announced on Kentucky Sports Radio that he has committed to the University of Kentucky.

Wright held scholarship offers from Northwestern, Boston College, Tennessee, Missouri, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Purdue, among others. A three-star recruit, Rivals ranks Wright as the No. 5 player in the state of Kentucky. The Wildcats have not signed a scholarship running back from the Commonwealth in 16 years, dating back to Louisville Waggener’s Alfonso Smith in 2005 (Simon Kenton’s Miles Simpson switched to linebacker in Lexington).
