Over the last few years, whenever the term “dream school” was used to describe the University of Kentucky basketball program, it essentially provided the death blow for the Wildcats’ recruiting chances. Today Kentucky avoided the dream school curse by waiting for the player to use it until after committed.
Seemingly unheard of by folks who closely follow Kentucky basketball recruiting until last night, Saturday afternoon Nolan Hickman became the first player in the 2021 recruiting class to commit to Kentucky. The point guard’s relationship was kept under wraps almost all the way to the finish line.
“Kentucky has always been a dream school for me,” Hickman told 247Sports.
