The ‘American Idol’ dream is still alive for Louisa, Kentucky’s own Noah Thompson. The construction worker from Lawrence County celebrated his 20th birthday by covering Jason Isbell’s “Cover Me Up” (what a great song) to stay in the competition last week. Last night, he advanced one round further by performing “Heartbreak Warfare” by John Mayer.
After his performance, Thompson was the first of 10 contestants announced as top-10 finalists moving on to next week.
