On Monday, associate coach Kenny Payne acknowledged how Kentucky plays better when it can crank up its fast-break offense.
“When we’re getting transition offense and we play free, it’s a different atmosphere,” Payne said before chuckling.
Missouri largely denied Kentucky the chance to shift into a higher gear. But UK showed it can be effective playing basketball going half-court to half-court.
Despite only one fast-break basket, Kentucky defeated Missouri 66-58 on Tuesday night.
