Jalen Tate is from Ohio, not Kentucky, but the grad transfer from Northern Kentucky University is all too familiar with the Wildcats. Four years ago, Tate watched from the bench as Kentucky, led by De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, and Bam Adebayo, ousted his Norse from the NCAA Tournament, and last night, he got a little bit of revenge, hitting two free throws to give his new team, the Arkansas Razorbacks, a rare win in Rupp.
“Man, I’m no hero, dog,” Tate said of his game-winning shots. “I’m just a guy that comes to work every day. As for living in the shadows, I went to Northern Kentucky right down the road.
