LEXINGTON - To beat rival Louisville, Kentucky basketball needed its much-maligned big men to step up.
For the first time in his career against a ranked team, Nick Richards answered that challenge and more. The junior forward totaled 13 points and 10 rebounds, scoring five straight points in overtime to lead Kentucky to a 78-70 win, is 11th in 13 meetings with Louisville in the John Calipari era.
After Louisville took a 68-65 lead on a Jordan Nwora 3-pointer with 2:22 left in overtime, Richards tied the game with a three-point play after being fouled on a put-back layup.
