Leaders have announced that the mascot of the new Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington will no longer be the Stallions following public outcry over the name.
The school announced their team name and uniform colors Monday:

After that, a petition was started online to change the Stallions name, claiming it was inappropriate and sexist. Fayette County school leaders say they received concern from the community about the mascot.
