Name, image, and likeness rights are coming to the NCAA, and if two current student-athletes have their way, it will include revenue from television rights and social media.
According to USA Today, attorneys for two current college athletes filed a federal antitrust lawsuit on Monday asking the NCAA for two things: 1) no restrictions on the amount of name, image, and likeness compensation available; and 2) unspecified damages based on the share of television-rights money and the social media earnings they would have received if the NCAA’s current limits on NIL compensation had not existed.
