Four hours after announcing the NCAA Tournament will go on as planned amid the coronavirus outbreak, the NCAA has changed its tone this evening. The organization just sent out this update, which says decisions about the tournament will be made “in the coming days,” the strongest language yet.
The statement comes a few hours after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s request that indoor sporting events in his state take place without fans in the stands.
The First Four of the NCAA Tournament is scheduled to take place in Dayton, Ohio next Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17-18.
