The NCAA continues its vicious streak of taking down the nation’s elite.
This afternoon, the NCAA decided to place the Utah basketball program on probation for two years for violations revolving around the school’s recruiting activities back in April 2018.
According to the official report, the school “conducted impermissible recruiting activities and the head coach failed to meet his responsibility to monitor his staff and promote rules compliance.” The violations occurred over a seven-day period.
The issue at hand? It was found that a Utah assistant coach “misapplied recruiting rules and believed off-campus recruiting activities were allowed during a quiet period” and the the assistant “conducted an evaluation of a recruit at a community college, and the full men’s basketball coaching staff visited a second recruit at his high school during the quiet period.
