Another day, another eligibility waiver granted that doesn’t belong to Olivier Sarr.
Today’s belongs to LSU big man Bryan Penn-Johnson, who transferred from Washington in July. According to Jon Rothstein, the NCAA has approved his waiver request, rendering him eligible for the 2020-21 season. The 7’1″ center will be part of a loaded LSU team that includes Trendon Watford, Javonte Smart, Darius Days, Charles Manning, and five-star freshman Cameron Thomas. UCLA transfer Shareef O’Neal and Georgetown transfer Josh LeBlanc are still waiting to hear about their waiver requests.
Clearly, there is no rhyme or reason to how the NCAA is processing these waivers, nor any semblance of a timeline.
