Kentucky relies heavily on its freshmen, but those youngsters are new to the college game and the grueling schedule is beginning to take its toll on their bodies. So what are they doing to avoid hitting a wall as the regular season winds down?
They’re taking naps.
According to Laura Rutledge during the UK-Ole Miss broadcast, UK’s freshmen have made it a priority to sneak in a little extra sleep each day to counter the exhaustion that comes with the day-to-day grind of Kentucky basketball. “Trying to deal with it, they’ve all decided they need to sleep a little bit more,” said Rutledge, late in Tuesday night’s game.
