As a player, I’m a five-year Media Day veteran. Preparation was a whole heck of a lot easier on the other side of the keyboard. Put on the uniform, walk out onto Commonwealth Stadium field, and talk away. In the days before the internets, quotes were a fire-and-forget weapon. Friday, I’ll be making my rookie appearance as an interviewer. To increase my beat writer skills and to be able to keep up with questions and answers, I bought a recorder thing. I guess I could have used my phone, but that would’ve required detailed instruction and an accompanying IT aide.
