The latest on the Kentucky football team comes from Tony Barnhart, the self-proclaimed “Mr. College Football.” An SEC Network analyst, he carries the title proudly, but this week he proved that title was not earned.
Now writing for an outlet called “TMG Sports,” Barnhart released his SEC East predictions after touring each school during the spring season. It’s no surprise Barnhart believes Kentucky can only beat Missouri and Vanderbilt in SEC play — Kentucky rarely gets preseason respect, if any — but his reasoning is shocking.
With running back Benny Snell (a two-time 1,000-yard rusher) returning and some potentially good quarterback play from JUCO transfer Terry Miller and redshirt sophomore Gunnar Hoak, the Wildcats might upset Mississippi State or South Carolina at home and improve on this record.
