It’s been less than two weeks since John Calipari’s Wildcats lost at home to Evansville, despite being the country’s top-ranked team and fresh off a win over Michigan State.
In that win over Michigan State, though, freshman combo guard Tyrese Maxey lit up Madison Square Garden. While his performances had been rather up-and-down leading up to Sunday night, Maxey got back on track with hot shooting and suffocating defense against the Lamar Cardinals in a 81-56 victory at Rupp Arena.
Maxey led all scorers with 21 points on 8-11 shooting, including him shooting 66% from behind the arc.
