Mitch Barnhart gets nice extension from UK

Mitch Barnhart has done wonders for UK Athletics, so it's only fair that the long-time athletic director is given a well-earned extension.

According to Jen Smith of the Lexington Herald-Leader, UK has given Barnhart a multi-year extension that will keep him under contract into 2022. Smith adds that the new deal will give Barnhart a raise from $730,000 annual salary to $840,000, which begins in 2019. For each remaining year on said deal, Barnhart gets another annual increase, making $880,000 in 2020 and $925,000 in 2021.

There's also an addition to the deal that gives Barnhart a nice retirement fund for each year he remains at UK on top of yearly retention bonuses starting in 2019.
