LEXINGTON -- Those hoping for at least some fans being allowed at Kentucky football games in 2020 were handed a boost last week when the governor's office approved plans for fan attendance at the Kentucky Derby and Louisville City soccer games.
UK athletic director Mitch Barnhart took both announcements as a positive sign, but during a Monday Zoom news conference cautioned conversations remain ongoing about how UK football games will look during the coronavirus pandemic.
"I think that was great news that we took a step allowing fans to venues," Barnhart said. "That was great, but obviously each venue is different and sporting events are different.
