Kentucky was the one team standing in the way of Mississippi State and a little bit of history.
But the second-ranked Bulldogs were on a mission Sunday in Memorial Coliseum, topping the Cats 85-63 on Senior Day.
Behind four players in double figures, Mississippi State became the first team from the Southeastern Conference to finish the regular season with an unblemished record in 20 years.
The Bulldogs, who finished their season 30-0 and a perfect 15-0 in conference play, were the first team from this league to do that since 1998 when Tennessee did it en route to a national title.
