Saturday night, Mike Leach made his long-awaited return to Lexington, home of where he helped Hal Mumme introduce the air raid offense to college football in the 90s.
During his brief time at Wildcats, Leach’s offense piled up stats at a rate never seen in school history, including a single-season (4,275 yards) passing record by Tim Couch.
But in his return to the school where he began showing the world what an offensive genius he’d become, his Mississippi State offense could do nothing against the Cats’ defense en route to a 24-2 loss.
