When the SEC champion Kentucky Wildcats take to the court next Saturday in Bloomington Indiana, it will be against another team that earned an automatic bid in the NCAA tournament. The 11-seed in the tournament, the Princeton Tigers (24-4), won their way into the tournament with an Ivy League championship.
The Tigers completed the feat Saturday, when they defeated Columbia 77-59. Princeton also beat Harvard in the tournament, finishing the year a perfect 14-0 in the Ivy League.
Princeton was led through the Ivy League tournament by sophomore guard Kaitlyn Chen, who scored a career high 30 points in the championship game and was named the tournament’s most outstanding player.
