Max Duffy has been one of the Wildcats’ most valuable weapons this season, and he became even more valuable Saturday afternoon during Kentucky’s win over UT Martin. The Australian native saved the Cats from a potentially touchdown-scoring punt return, thanks to his nifty open-field tackle in the first quarter.
Despite Duffy’s 66-yard punt, his longest of the day, UT Martin’s Terry Williams returned the ball 42 yards before ultimately meeting up with the punter himself.
“I was a little bit annoyed he got a return because I kicked it to the 3-yard line, and normally they don’t return that,” Duffy said after the game.
