In an interview with WKYX radio on Tuesday morning, Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin went on record to say that he believes college athletes should be compensated.
On the heels of the FBI announcing its investigation into the corruption of college athletics, Governor Bevin was asked what he thought about the University of Louisville’s involvement. After showing his distaste for the “shenanigans” happening in Louisville, Bevin went on somewhat of a rant about paying college athletes.
“I think we should pay college athletes,” said Bevin. “I really do. This idea that they’re not professionals is nonsense. They’re not there like normal students and we shouldn’t pretend that they are.
