The Duke Blue Devils may be the nation’s No. 1 team, but they are taking some big losses on the injury front before the season even opens.
The school announced Monday that freshman center Marques Bolden suffered a lower leg injury that will sideline him for an unknown amount of time. Bolden picked Duke over the Kentucky Wildcats this year after a long recruiting battle, and he was expected to open as the starting center for Duke this season.
The school also says that Bolden “will be reevaluated after this weekend,” which seems to indicate he will miss the school’s first two games vs Marist and Grand Canyon, not to mention being up in the air for next Tuesday’s clash with Kansas.
