The six Kentucky football players who are facing burglary charges are no longer practicing with the team, head coach Mark Stoops announced Saturday.

Stoops said the reasoning is he wants to see if any new information comes out through the discovery process now that the players have been charged.

“They deserve the opportunity to defend themselves,” Stoops added.

First-degree burglary charges were issued Thursday as a result of an incident in March at a fraternity party. Three students who say they were at the party told WDRB that the players forced themselves into the house and assaulted multiple people before Lexington police were called and the crowd dispersed.
