Step aside, Bear Bryant. Mark Stoops is now the winningest coach in Kentucky football history.
With the Wildcats’ win at Florida, Stoops has now racked up 61 career wins, pushing him to No. 1 on the school’s all-time list. Paul “Bear” Bryant was the school’s previous wins leader for almost seven decades with 60 total victories.
Now, the record is Stoops’ and Stoops’ alone.
“Fortunate. A lot of great players, coaches have been here,” the Kentucky head coach said after the win. “To be able to persevere playing in this conference, I’m fortunate.”
Stoops now sits at 61-53 overall during his ten years in Lexington.
