Mark Stoops has confirmed that Kentucky freshman receiver Dekel Crowdus will be back on the practice field in the coming weeks.
Following KSR’s report on Friday indicating the four-star newcomer had avoided a serious knee injury and will not need surgery, Stoops announced Saturday that Crowdus’ test results revealed a strain with no torn ligaments.
As a result, the 5-foot-10 freshman is expected to miss “a couple weeks,” a timeline that could put him back in the lineup in time for Kentucky’s season-opener against Louisiana Monroe on September 4.
Crowdus came to Kentucky as a four-star recruit out of Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, KY.
