Mark Stoops admits Kentucky could have ‘awkward’ QB competition next season

With Kentucky set to make its first bowl game appearance since 2010, many would argue that the future looks bright for the Wildcats.

But at least at one position, it could be a little hazy, too.

After the successes of quarterback Stephen Johnson in place of injured starter Drew Barker this season, Kentucky could find itself with a previously unexpected quarterback competition going into next season.

Though the Wildcats have yet to play in the TaxSlayer Bowl against Georgia Tech, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops didn’t shy away from the elephant in the room on Wednesday.
