Maci Morris scored a career-high 35 points, but the former Bell County star’s big game wasn’t nearly enough in Kentucky’s 81-63 loss to No. 8 South Carolina in Columbia.
Morris was 13-for-23 from the field, including five of nine on three-pointers. But the rest of the Wildcats combined to go 9-for-32 from the field.
A’ja Wilson scored 29 points and the Gamecocks had assists on 21 of their 26 baskets.
Wilson shot 9-for-16 from the field, made 11 of 12 free throws and had nine rebounds and five assists in just 26 minutes for South Carolina (22-5, 11-3 Southeastern Conference).
