Kentucky returned from the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands last week unbeaten and with a shiny, new trophy.
“It’s a little trophy of a steel drum that they played on the islands,” Coach Matthew Mitchell said.
And while it’s a lovely token, Mitchell joked that if the No. 25 Cats didn’t handle the short turnaround well against Morehead State that they might get “beaten like a steel drum.”
Ultimately the beat went on for Kentucky, which topped Morehead State 87-57, on Wednesday afternoon in Memorial Coliseum, UK’s 14th straight victory over the Eagles.
