Add another trophy to Lynn Bowden’s shelf. The Kentucky Football star was named 2019 Herald-Leader Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year, which was determined by a vote of 169 current and former media members.
Bowden beat out Lamar Jackson (Louisville Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens) and Ja Morant (Murray State, Memphis Grizzlies) for the honor. He received 91 out of 169 first-place votes, the third most in the 39-year history of the award. Only American Pharoah in 2015 and Lamar Jackson in 2016 have had more.
